Material Handler Job Description
  • Role Summary: Responsible for safe and efficient movement, storage, and tracking of materials and finished goods within a warehouse or production facility.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Loading/Unloading: Handling incoming/outgoing materials, often using forklifts or pallet jacks.
    • Production Support: Supplying raw materials to production workstations and moving finished products (like wood reels).
    • Inventory Control: Verifying tags, markings, and labels for accuracy; performing cycle counts.
    • Quality Inspection: Checking specifications on samples using tools like measuring tapes.
    • Safety & Maintenance: Adhering to safety standards, maintaining a clean workspace (5S), and conducting daily equipment inspections.
    • Documentation: Completing and maintaining shipping/receiving paperwork.

Typical Qualifications for Material Handlers
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Forklift operation certification or experience.
  • Physical stamina (ability to lift up to 50–100 lbs).
