Remuneration: Non-Exempt
The Tiger Team Supervisor is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations and maintenance activities for an assigned renewable energy facility or shift. This hands-on leadership role supervises technicians and contractors, coordinates maintenance activities, monitors equipment performance, and ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate brings practical experience in renewable energy operations and maintenance, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to coach and lead a frontline technical team across wind, solar, and energy storage systems.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operational activities within assigned unit/shift to ensure efficiency and compliance with organizational standards
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules within area of responsibility to minimize downtime
  • Monitor performance of machinery and systems, initiating corrective actions and escalating as needed
  • Directly supervise and mentor maintenance staff and technicians, ensuring proper training and adherence to safety regulations
  • Oversee day-to-day contractor activity on-site, ensuring adherence to project timelines, safety protocols, and quality standards
  • Manage timecard approvals and attendance tracking for team members
  • Prepare reports on operational metrics and maintenance activities for the Operations Manager
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities for routine maintenance and repairs; monitor and report on unit-level spend
  • Manage performance for team members, including goal-setting, evaluations, and corrective action as needed
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to support individual growth and team efficiency
  • Support and help implement continuous improvement initiatives within the team
  • Lead or support root cause analysis and problem-solving for unit-level operational and maintenance issues
  • Ensure team-level adherence to OSHA, NFPA, EPA, NERC, and PUC regulatory standards
  • Knowledge & Application
    • Applies working technical knowledge of renewable energy systems, including wind, solar, and energy storage technologies
    • Monitors equipment performance and supports day-to-day operational efficiency
    • Follows industry standards and regulations to maintain compliance in daily operations
  • Complexity & Problem Solving
    • Resolves routine operational issues using established, well-defined procedures
    • Identifies basic equipment performance issues and escalates or corrects as appropriate
    • Works alongside technicians to troubleshoot common system errors
  • Collaboration & Interaction
    • Coordinates with peers and adjacent teams to support execution of maintenance tasks
    • Interacts with on-site vendors and contractors to support daily operational needs
    • Supports a positive team environment to maintain morale and engagement
  • Scope of Management & Supervision
    • Directly supervises frontline technicians, ensuring adherence to daily operational protocols
    • Prioritizes tasks and resources within the unit/shift to meet maintenance schedules
    • Monitors individual performance and provides direct, hands-on coaching on technical skills

Job Requirements and Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required
  • Minimum 2 years experience in O&M; prior lead or informal supervisory experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of technical troubleshooting and equipment operation
  • Up to 50% travel required

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time
  • Ability to push/pull/lift tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work safely in extreme environments (hot sun, cold, etc.)
