Position Overview

Viron designs and manufactures custom industrial air cleaning systems. From coated stainless-steel ductwork to dampers, scrubbers to stacks, and fans to controls, our systems are engineered to perform together in the harshest corrosive environments.

For more than five decades, mechanical contractors, engineering firms, and facility managers—from semiconductor fabs to municipal wastewater plants—have relied on our broadest material and product offering in the industry. Viron International is seeking a dynamic and hands-on TIG Welder to join for our First Shift team in Temple, Texas. The role is responsible to help build our custom air cleaning systems for our customers.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong work ethic, and is eager to work side-by-side with the team to achieve organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating shop equipment, hand tools, plasma torch, shear, brake, roller, punch press, rotary forming machines, seam welders, coil line, etc.
  • Cutting, forming, grinding, drilling, fitting, fabricating sheet metal fittings and duct work.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly set up and used in a sage manner and that all safety devices are in use.
  • Operate a forklift, if required and trained.
  • Performs first piece inspections as well as all subsequent inspections as required.
  • Monitor equipment and request maintenance when required.
  • Perform simple maintenance and repair as required.
  • This position requires working in a production environment. Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times in the shop.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Able to work Monday – Friday, 10 hours per day. ( Overtime on Saturday as needed)

  • Mechanically inclined.

  • TIG welding experience required.

  • Proficient mathematical skills.

  • Ability to read a tape measure.

  • Able to read or familiar with blueprints.

  • Willing to learn. Training will be provided to the right individual for a 2 week time frame.

  • Willing to work at fast pace.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Work in environments with exposure to paints, powders, chemicals, and varying temperatures.

Pay & Benefits

  • Starting pay $18 to $23 per hour, can be higher based on experience
  • “This position is eligible for overtime pay for hours worked over 40 in a workweek.”
  • Weekly Pay
  • After first of the month following 60 days of employment all full-time eligible employees will have the option to enroll in Scott and White Health Plan for health and vision, Delta Dental, 401k, Life insurance and Short-Term disability.
  • In addition, Vacation after 1 year of employment and 8 paid holidays after 90 day probation is completed.
