THE ROLE

Reporting to the Payroll Director within Shared Services, the Payroll Manager oversees the execution of multi-state U.S. and multi-province Canadian payroll functions within Live Nation. The manager oversees a staff of 24 direct and indirect reports, ensuring payroll delivery on a weekly basis with superior customer service in a high-volume environment.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

  • Oversee accurate and timely processing of biweekly, weekly and semi-monthly payrolls that include salaried, hourly, tipped, seasonal and union employees in multiple states in the U.S. and Canada.

  • Lead, mentor and professionally develop payroll team members toward the achievement of department, company and personal goals.

  • Strong performance management background, engaging and comfortable addressing employee performance and goal setting.

  • Strong communication with team to maintain team unity and camaraderie.

  • Create and/or process reports to support executive and local management, Human Resources, Benefits, Risk Management and others as needed.

  • Acts as a payroll representative to service providers working with the Payroll office.

  • Strong understanding and adherence to internal controls and SOX compliance procedures.

  • Able to apply controls for development of processes and procedures of the department.

  • Communicate and resolve issues for Human Resources, Accounting and other departments as needed.

  • Understanding of Change Management best practices in order to communicate and deliver change to continuously improve departmental deliverables.

  • Maintain high levels of Customer Service including response and resolution, as well as develop processes to improve quality of customer service delivered by the department.

  • Maintains high degree of confidentiality and security of payroll information and data files

  • Consistently evaluate payroll processes and engage the team to develop and implement improvements on a continuous basis

  • Manage and ensure timely payroll turnaround times for responses, pay corrections, and reporting

  • Special projects as needed.

  • Minimal travel may be required

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred

  • Minimum of 7 years payroll experience and 3 years recent experience as a Payroll Manager in high volume environment

  • CPP certification required

  • Knowledge of payroll systems and report writing experience

  • Knowledge of federal, state and local wage and hour laws, garnishments, payroll tax and regulatory reporting

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Hands on and willing to step into processes and identify issues or areas for improvement.

  • Experience with time keeping, POS and other payroll related systems.

  • Experience with high volume (10,000 plus employees) payroll department.

  • Experience in a public traded company

  • Multi-state experience that includes California required. Canadian payroll experience preferred.

  • Able to operate within a flexible environment, where ambiguity requires interpretation.

  • Strong communicator, understanding when best to lead and when to follow.

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

  • Strong in Microsoft Office Suite.
