Job description

The Ticket Services Representative is responsible for providing excellent customer service, completing in-person and phone ticket sales for all four of our theaters (Center for Performing Arts, San Jose Civic, California Theatre, and Montgomery Theater), as well as handling will call distribution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively and politely communicates with patrons, explains box office policies and provides general seating information and assistance to clients and patrons via email, phone and in person.
  • Replies to daily customer service emails and queries
  • Processes ticket orders and subscriber exchanges by phone and in person at the box office
  • Process both cash and credit card payments, and make correct change and reconcile sales at the end of each shift.
  • Assists in creating price sheets and seating charts for specific events
  • Assists patrons who require ADA/wheelchair accessible seating
  • Completes special tasks as assigned by TSJ Ticketing management, such as processing complimentary or promotional ticket orders, filing event folders and general organization in the Box Office.
  • Prepares daily ticket orders for mailing
  • Assists with transporting bulk items (i.e. ticket stock, computer components, sandwich board signs) from the office to the theater as needed.
  • Assists in training new staff on the multiple ticketing systems

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Strong cash handling skills and be able to count back change
  • Proficient and comfortable utilizing computer software
  • Previous experience in using automated ticketing systems is a plus
  • A friendly and professional disposition
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and to resolve issues independently
  • Some background in sales, retail and customer service is preferred
  • Must be able to stand for periods of at least 4 hours and to work outdoors
  • Able to lift at least 40 lbs.
