Are you a passionate coach and workforce development professional committed to economic empowerment and community transformation? The Black Cultural Zone CDC (BCZ) is seeking a Workforce Development Thrive Coach to provide holistic coaching, career navigation, and workforce readiness support to community members in Deep East Oakland. This role is central to BCZ's mission of restoration, preservation, and place keeping.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide Individual Coaching: Deliver one-on-one and group coaching sessions focused on career readiness, goal setting, and professional development for program participants.
- Design Workforce Pathways: Develop and facilitate workforce development curricula, training modules, and skill-building workshops aligned with BCZ's Life to Legacy Framework.
- Track Participant Progress: Maintain accurate case notes, progress tracking, and outcome data using HRIS and program management tools to monitor participant milestones.
- Connect to Resources: Identify and connect participants to employment opportunities, educational programs, certifications, and community support services.
- Support Program Delivery: Collaborate with program teams to co-facilitate events, orientations, and community-facing activations that advance workforce development goals.
- Build Employer Partnerships: Cultivate and maintain relationships with employers, training providers, and community partners to expand participant placement opportunities.
- Report and Evaluate: Contribute to qualitative and quantitative impact reporting, including participant success stories and program outcome summaries.
- Uphold BCZ Values: Model BCZ's C.R.E.A.T.E. values and Sankofa philosophy in all coaching interactions, team collaborations, and community engagements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in workforce development, career coaching, or case management.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those facing employment barriers.
- Proficiency with digital tools including case management systems, spreadsheets, and communication platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to facilitate workshops and group sessions.
- Commitment to BCZ's mission of centering Black culture, arts, and economic empowerment in East Oakland.

- Status: Full-Time, Salary, 40 hours per week
- Schedule: Monday–Friday; some evenings and weekends as required
- Location: Hybrid, BCZ hub locations
- Salary: $67,870 – $92,287 per year
