Job description

Union Gospel Mission Position Description

        

POSITION TITLE: Thrift Store Clothing Intake Specialist

REPORTS TO: Thrift Store Manager

LOCATION: 11611 SW Pacific Hwy Tigard OR 97223

STATUS: Part-time, 24-30 hours per week

WAGE: $18 per hour

 

OVERALL POSITION DESCRIPTION:  

The Thrift Store Clothing Intake Specialist is responsible for receiving, sorting, and preparing donated clothing for sale in the Thrift store. This role ensures clothing items are clean, in good condition, and properly organized for display on the sales floor.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Receive and sort donated clothing items.
  • Inspect clothing for damage, stains, or excessive wear.
  • Determine whether items are suitable for sale or disposal (bale).
  • Identify higher-end or designer brands for placement on UGM’s High-End Rack.
  • Hang and organize clothing and place new items on the sales floor.
  • Assist in maintaining an organized and efficient clothing intake area.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to assess garment quality quickly.
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet store production goals.
  • Ability to work well with staff, LifeChange men, and volunteers in a team environment.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • A criminal history and background check are required and must be successfully completed.
