Job description

A growing litigation practice is seeking an experienced associate attorney with 5+ years of litigation experience to join its team. This is an opportunity for a strong litigator to handle sophisticated construction and commercial litigation matters, take meaningful ownership of cases, and build toward partnership in a collegial, collaborative environment with a manageable 1,850-hour billable requirement.

The Role
  • Independently manage complex litigation matters from start to finish
  • Handle matters directly for two partners and take meaningful ownership of assigned cases
  • Develop case strategy and conduct legal analysis
  • Draft discovery, motions, pleadings, and other substantive litigation documents
  • Handle matters involving contractors, owners, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment rental companies
  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders
  • Immediately assume responsibility for existing partner caseloads
  • Work efficiently and independently while collaborating with experienced attorneys

Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of litigation experience
  • Construction litigation experience required
  • Significant experience handling complex litigation
  • Ability to independently manage matters with minimal supervision
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Experience drafting discovery, motions, pleadings, and other substantive litigation documents
  • Excellent judgment and attention to detail
  • High level of independence, initiative, and ownership
