Retail Leasing Attorney | In-House Opportunity
MUST HAVE SIGNIFICANT RETAIL LEASING EXPERIENCE
A growing commercial real estate organization based in Atlanta, GA is seeking an experienced Retail Leasing Attorney to manage sophisticated retail leasing and outparcel transactions for commercial development projects.
This attorney will play a key role in supporting shopping centers, mixed-use developments, and standalone retail properties, working closely with leasing, development, asset management, construction, and finance teams.
What You Will Do:

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex retail leases, including anchor, inline, pad, and temporary/pop-up leases
• Handle LOIs, amendments, estoppels, subleases, SNDAs, CAM agreements, TIAs, guaranties, REAs, declarations, and related documents
• Structure and negotiate key economic and non-economic lease provisions
• Lead negotiations involving anchors and national tenants
• Advise internal business teams on legal, commercial, and operational leasing matters
• Manage post-execution leasing issues, including TIAs, rent commencement, tenant delays, disputes, collections, and renewal options
• Support lease-related disputes and coordinate with internal or outside litigation counsel
• Develop and maintain leasing templates, precedents, playbooks, and other resources

What We Are Looking For:

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission
• 8-15 years of commercial real estate law experience
• Significant retail leasing and outparcel sales experience
• Proven experience negotiating complex leases with anchor and national tenants
• Strong drafting, negotiation, commercial judgment, and problem-solving skills
• Deep familiarity with retail leasing economics, CAM, TIAs, SNDAs, estoppels, and related transactional documents
• Ability to provide practical, business-minded advice in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience
Experience in real estate development and construction-related leasing matters is preferred, along with prior in-house experience with a developer, REIT, or large landlord. Experience managing outside counsel and cross-functional teams is also a plus.

Compensation Range:
$225,000++ DOE base salary, plus bonus.
