Job description

Overview

Position Summary:

   The Forge Press Operator must be capable of setting up a forge press in a minimal amount of time.  The operation consists of transferring a heated billet to forged product by processing through a forge press which includes trim operation.  The individual must be able to set-up and operate an induction heater, reducer roll, and pierce press.  Duties include clean-up, minor machine repair, stocking of billets, hopper feeding, and other duties assigned by Supervisor.

Responsibilities

KEY TASKS

  • Work from drawings, specifications, and formulas in manufacturing involving detail. 
  • The use of and interpretation of measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, scales, electric meters and oscilloscopes.
  • Set up and operation of  Forge Press.
  • Set up and operation of Induction Heater.
  • Set up and operation of reducer roll.
  • Set up and operation of Pierce Press.
Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • The uses of judgment to comply with instructions.
  • Work involves prescribed routines, methods or practices which allow for the making of minor decisions.
  • The ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide decimals and fractions.
