Job Description:

The Senior Manager, Thought Leadership and Strategic Content execute Withum's firmwide thought leadership strategy, turning the experience of our subject-matter professionals into high-quality, distinctive content that builds authority and trust. Reporting to the CMO, this role owns the day-to-day operation of the thought leadership content engine working with the Industry and Services Marketing Leaders and Marketing Centers of Excellence teams.

The Senior Manager manages editorial, writing, and motion graphics team members, runs and oversees multi-stage editorial reviews, ghostwrites on behalf of firm leaders, and responsibly leverages AI to accelerate content development. Working in close partnership with the Industry Editorial Boards, and Marketing Centers of Excellence, the Senior Manager ensures every piece is original, on-brand, and measurable.

How you'll spend your time:

  • Operationalizing the firmwide thought leadership strategy across formats - articles, blogs, reports, webinars, podcasts, videos, and external speaking.

  • Owning and maintaining a centralized editorial calendar.

  • Developing recommendations to repurpose and extend assets across channels for reach and longevity.

  • Serving as the operational owner of the Thought Leadership Policy, safeguarding content integrity and the appropriate recognition of subject-matter professionals.

  • Upholding disclaimer, trademark, and brand-use requirements across firm-published and personal or external content.

  • Managing, coaching, and developing a team; set standards, balance workloads.

  • Owning the multi-stage editorial review process - substantive, line, and copy editing - so every piece is polished, credible, accurate.

  • Maintaining style, voice, and quality guidelines, and giving constructive feedback that elevates the writing of both the team and contributing professionals.

  • Ghostwriting articles, bylines, LinkedIn posts, scripts, and speaking content where applicable, conducting author interviews to capture unique points of view, then shape them into polished, publication-ready thought leadership.

  • Responsibly integrating approved AI tools to accelerate research, outlining, drafting, repurposing, and optimization - always with human subject-matter review and in line with firm data, confidentiality, and quality standards.

  • Piloting and scaling AI-enabled workflows increase output and consistency without compromising originality or accuracy.

  • Helping define guardrails, prompts, and best practices for the team's use of AI in content development.

  • Partnering with Marketing Leaders for idea generation through development, promotion, and measurement.

The kinds of people we want to talk to have many of the following:

  • 8+ years of content, editorial, journalism, or thought leadership experience, including 2+ years leading writers or editors - professional services, accounting, or B2B environment preferred.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a portfolio of published short and long-form and thought leadership content.

  • Demonstrated ghostwriting experience and the ability to adopt multiple expert voices.

  • Working fluency with AI content tools and a clear point of view on using them responsibly.

  • Strong project management skills; able to run a high-volume editorial calendar across many stakeholders.

  • Experience in a multi-service professional services firm or regulated industry.

  • Familiarity with SEO/AEO, digital distribution, and content performance measurement.

  • Experience partnering directly with senior leaders and subject-matter experts.

  • Editorial judgment - an uncompromising bar for quality, accuracy, and originality.

  • Leadership & coaching - develops writers and editors and elevates the work of contributors.

  • Collaboration - builds strong partnerships across industries, service lines, and Centers of Excellence.

  • Governance & brand stewardship - protects authorship standards, disclaimers, and the firm's brand.

  • Adaptability with AI - adopts emerging tools thoughtfully and responsibly.

  • Results orientation - ties content to engagement, pipeline, and measurable ROI.

  • Experience partnering directly with senior leaders and subject-matter experts.

The compensation for this position ranges from $115,000-135,000. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance.
