Job description

Lunch Assistant Clear Spring Elementary School
Hours Vary but no more than 2.25 hours/day, 10-Month Work Year (180 Days)
Hourly Wage is $15.00 for the 2026 - 2027 school year
Role Overview
Under the direct supervision of the principal, provide supervision of the students while eating lunch and during playground period.
Minimum Requirements
Demonstrated ability to work successfully with students and adults.
Ability to supervise students.
Regular and predictable attendance which is an essential function of this position.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
Role Responsibilities
Supervision and management of up to 90-100 students in the cafeteria.
Have students maintain a minimum noise level.
Have students maintain good table manners and good discipline.
Address disturbances and react positively with students.ย ย ย 
Distribute lunch condiments (ketchup, etc.) at the tables.
Help students with trays, opening thermos bottles, etc.
Assist with dismissal - guides students in an orderly fashion from cafeteria to classroom.
Wipe the tables after each group of students.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย 
Supervision and management of 90-100 students on the playground.
Dismiss students in an orderly fashion from the cafeteria or classroom to the playground.
Help students organize playground games when needed.
Resolve minor student conflicts in a diplomatic manner.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย 
Work cooperatively with others with the aim of fostering a friendly work environment.
Demonstrate courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Washington County Public Schools.
