  • This posting is for the 2026-2027 school year only.  If you previously applied for a substitute position in the 2025-2026 school year, it will be necessary to reapply using this posting. CURRENT SUBSTITUTES OF THE DISTRICT ARE NOT REQUIRED TO REAPPLY.
  • In order to be considered for this position, the following steps are required:
  1. Must have High School Diploma or GED
  2. Interview with a member of the Human Resources team
  3. Candidates selected through the interview process will then participate in a new hire orientation
  4. No applicant may start as a substitute until the hiring and orientation process is complete.


Job Description:
TITLE: Substitute Cafeteria Aide
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Has a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate
2. Has the ability to read and follow written directions
3. Has the ability to stand and walk continuously for a period of at least two hours
4. Has demonstrated the ability or potential to communicate and work effectively with students and staff
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB GOAL: Supervise the cafeteria during lunchtime
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Be familiar with and follow written policies, procedures and directions from supervisor related to job responsibilities
2. Assist students in finding seats
3. Monitor the conduct and manners of students
4. Assist students in opening milk cartons, thermos, etc.
5. Give permission to students needing to be excused to go to restroom
6. Remind children, when necessary, to leave eating area clean and orderly
7. Give students a warning for first minor inappropriate behavior
8. Notify the principal when extreme misconduct occurs
9. Report to the principal any concerns for improving the dining pleasure of all students
10. Assist students in lining up when lunch period is over
11. Perform other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by the supervisor
