TITLE: Cafeteria Monitor
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Has a high school diploma or G.E.D
  2. Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
  3. Has demonstrated the ability or potential to communicate and work effectively with students, parents/guardians, and staff

REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB GOAL: Supervise the cafeteria during lunchtime
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Be familiar with, communicate, and follow written policies, procedures and directions from supervisor related to job responsibilities
  2. Communicate and facilitate cafeteria expectations to students, staff, and guests
  3. Circulate through cafeteria for approximately two (2) hours
  4. Responsible to ensure the tables and chairs are clean and ready for the next class
  5. Assist students and guests in finding appropriate seating
  6. Actively monitor and manage the conduct and manners of students
  7. Notify the principal when extreme misconduct occurs
  8. Be aware of and assist students with specific needs based on physical and/or mental constraints
  9. Assist students in opening milk cartons, thermos, etc
  10. Remind children, when necessary, to leave eating area clean and orderly
  11. Assist students in lining up when lunch period is over and communicate with classroom teacher the behavior of their class on a daily basis
  12. Report to the principal any ideas or suggestions for improving the dining pleasure of all
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • Length of school year not to exceed 175 pupil attendance days, 4 holidays and 1in-service day
  • Daily work schedule determined by principal
  • Salary Schedule: G1
  • FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

EVALUATION: Performance of the position will be evaluated annually by the principal
