Palm Point Behavioral Health (affiliated with Universal Health Services) is a 74-bed behavioral health hospital is located in Titusville, Florida minutes from Cape Canaveral. Palm Point Behavioral Health treats adults, children and adolescents that suffer from a wide range of behavioral health diagnoses including, depression, anxiety and substance abuse in a modern and well-appointed facility. Palm Point behavioral health offers inpatient treatment options and serve communities in Brevard County and beyond. Titusville, located on Florida’s Space Coast, is approximately 30-miles north of historic Cocoa Beach, and 40-miles east of Orlando’s famous theme parks. In Titusville, you can tour the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and Canaveral National Seashore. Job Summary

The Mental Health Technician (Psych Tech) functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to adolescent residential patients. The Mental Health Technician works under the direction of the Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates group activities tailored to the appropriate topic, age, and level of understanding as approved by the Program Coordinator.
  • Ensures patients are consistently monitored in the proper location for the duration of activities.
  • Provides appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse the situation, correctly prioritizing safety concerns.
