Job description

The Toy Store Supervisor & Buyer oversees daily store operations of the Toy Store by leading a team of Sales Associates and works in partnership with the Store Manager and Retail Leadership Team to curate a merchandise assortment and place orders accordingly to specifically support the brand.

Duties & Responsibilities:ย 

  • Daily communications and cooperation with the manager to ensureย positive day-to-day operationsย at the store.ย 
  • Createsย a happy store environment where guests receive a warm welcome and a genuine Sun Valley experience when shopping in the store or enjoying a special event.ย 
  • Promotes teamwork, customer service, store appearance and presentation implementation, and follows & upholds company policies and procedures.ย ย 
  • Works closely with the store manager to hire sales associates andย assistsย with the interview and hiring process including onboarding, paperwork completion, providing uniforms & nametags for new associates andย providing a training schedule for new associates.ย ย 
  • Assistsย with weekly schedules, payroll submission and commission updates, assigns employees to specific duties, and formalizes weekly meetings with the retail manager and regular meetings with the staff.ย 
  • Supervises, trains, and motivates employees engaged in sales work, taking inventories, reconciling cash draws, keeping operating records, or preparing daily records of transactions.ย 
  • Works closely with the retail purchasing/receiving teamย andย inspects and checks in the incoming merchandise shipments.ย 
  • Handles all return authorizations and supervises special ordersย and communicates these needs withย the central receivingย team.ย 
  • Processes sales at POS and can utilize RTP for inventory management and to track sales to place reorders.ย 
  • Fields any customer complaints or concerns, examines returned merchandise and resolves problems to restore and promote good public relations and provide an excellent customer experience.ย 
  • Collaborates with the store manager to select to order for store inventory and help curate an assortment of items relevant to our guests and to supportย special events.ย ย ย 
  • Keeps detailed records of merchandise orders placed and fosters relationships with vendors to ensureย timelyย delivery of orders placed.ย 
  • Delegates cleaning, restocking, vendor inventories, and organizational responsibilities to sales staffย 
  • Directly supervises 5-10 employees in the retail store.ย 

Qualifications:ย 

  • High school diploma or GED certificateย 
  • Previousย retail,ย hospitalityย or customer experience rolesย 
  • Retail point of sale software experience preferableย 
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English with customers and team members.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skillsย 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measureย 
  • Commitment to providing a superior customer experience toย each and everyย Sun Valley guestย 
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed at our year-round resortย 
  • Can travel out of state periodically to various markets or shows in conjunction with the manager or retail leadership to select ongoing merchandise needsย 
  • Engage in physical activities like standing forย long periods, walking, andย utilizingย hands for tasks that involve gripping,ย lifting,ย handling, poking, and reachingย 
  • Can safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds andย frequentlyย lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.ย
