We are currently seeking a dependable and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our Dietary Department on a full-time AM shift.

Position Overview

The Dietary Aide supports the Dietary Department in preparing, serving, and delivering meals and nourishment to residents while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, accuracy, and customer service.

This position plays an important role in ensuring residents receive meals that are safe, nutritious, appetizing, timely, and appropriate for their individual dietary needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparing and serving meals according to planned menus and established dietary procedures.
  • Prepare food according to prescribed diets, texture modifications, portion requirements, and special dietary needs.
  • Serve meals, snacks, beverages, supplements, and nourishments according to resident orders.
  • Respect and accommodate resident food preferences within established diet orders.
  • Check meal trays for accuracy before distribution.
  • Ensure trays contain the appropriate utensils, condiments, beverages, and special equipment when required.
  • Deliver meal trays, food carts, and nourishment items to designated areas.
  • Prepare, label, and deliver snacks and nourishments as instructed.
  • Assist with setting up dining areas and maintaining a pleasant dining environment.
  • Assist with special events and meal functions as needed.
  • Store food and dietary supplies properly upon delivery and maintain appropriate storage conditions.
  • Assist with obtaining food and supplies needed for upcoming meals.
  • Assist with inventory and maintaining adequate dietary supplies.
  • Wash, clean, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Transport soiled dishes and utensils to the appropriate washing area.
  • Perform dishwashing and cleaning duties in a timely manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout kitchen, dining, and dietary areas.
  • Perform scheduled sweeping, mopping, and waste-management duties.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection-control, and facility policies and procedures.
  • Work cooperatively with Dietary staff, nursing staff, and other departments.
  • Provide courteous and respectful service to residents, families, visitors, and coworkers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
