Job description

Job Summary/Company:

Sparks Group is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Loan Processor (Bilingual English/Spanish) to support a well-established credit union in Washington, DC. This role is responsible for providing operational and administrative support across credit card servicing, consumer lending, and mortgage post-closing processes. The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, highly organized, and experienced in managing sensitive financial documentation with accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Credit Card Services

  • Process incoming credit card applications and gather required documentation.
  • Set up new VISA credit accounts, limit increases, autopay requests, balance transfers, and payment adjustments.
  • Manage lost/stolen card processes and coordinate with vendors for compromised accounts and returned statements.
  • Generate monthly credit card reports and track complaint trends to support service improvements.
  • Handle ACH returns, account updates, insurance reporting, and member outreach for missing application information.

Consumer Loans

  • Maintain a deep understanding of all consumer loan products and assist members through the loan process.
  • Prepare and process approved loan packages, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and complete documentation.
  • Support collections follow-up for consumer and mortgage loans as directed.
  • Assist in reporting, tracking, and portfolio maintenance activities.

Mortgage Post-Closing

  • Audit closing packages for accuracy and perform funding sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare documentation for delivery to servicers, investors, warehouse custodians, and insurance providers.
  • Manage trailing documents by coordinating with title companies and county offices.
  • Upload documents, update loan systems, and support servicing requests and special mortgage file projects.

Qualifications/Background Profile:
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required (verbal & written).
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, construction, bridge, and reverse mortgage loans preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations and manage multiple priorities.

Pay Range: Hourly $28.00 to $33.00
