School Based Therapist

Position Details: 

  • Start Date would be early August for the upcoming 2026 - 2027 Regular School Year
  • Location:  2 opportunities are available, (1) in Sherman Oaks and (1) in Culver City
  • Full Time  
  • Program: Social Development
    • A therapeutic special education program that helps students build the social, emotional, and behavioral skills they need to succeed in school. The mission of the Social Development Class is to provide comprehensive behavioral instruction, direct social skills instruction and support in a highly structured, therapeutic, nonpunitive environment for students within special education whose behavior significantly hinders their achievement in the school setting. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide individual and group therapy to children with serious emotional, learning, developmental, and autism-related needs
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including school staff, psychiatrists, and related service providers
  • Deliver case management services and coordinate care for clients
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client documentation and records
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and agency-wide initiatives while adhering to organizational policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with professional licensing, ethical, and legal standards
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to meet client and school needs, including supporting private insurance clients as assigned

Qualifications 

  • Registered with the appropriate licensing board (BBS) as an LCSW, LMFT, AMFT, ACSW, or Psychologist
  • Master’s or doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited program
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience working with children and families
  • Experience supporting children with behavioral and emotional needs
  • Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Bilingual Spanish skills preferred

The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of Help Group. Salaries will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to, professional and academic experience, certification, training, responsibilities of the position, and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.
