Position Description:
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Janitor to join our Facilities Operations team supporting federal buildings in Yuma and San Luis, Arizona. This role is essential in keeping high-security government facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for all occupants.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.
•• Perform daily cleaning tasks including:
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting
- Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms
- Emptying trash and recycling
- Restocking supplies
• Maintain lobbies, hallways, offices, and public areas.
• Clean glass, windows, and entryways as required.
• Follow a defined cleaning schedule and quality standards.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely (vacuums, floor machines, etc.).
• Support special cleaning assignments as needed.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
•• Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and complete tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand/walk for most of the shift.
• Must be able to pass a federal background check (HSPD-12).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in federal or high-security buildings.
• Knowledge of green cleaning practices and equipment.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
