Description
The Production Operator, Gaskets (Cleaver Brooks), manufactures textile gaskets used in industrial boiler products. This role performs all tasks involved in the production of the Company's technical textile gasket products, including preventive maintenance and tending equipment, manufacture and inspecting products following standard operating procedures. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

Through our Amatex, Darco Southern, Davlyn Manufacturing, and Norfab businesses, our products and engineering services are used by thousands of customers in over 50 countries to help keep heat in its place, improve safety, and increase productivity. DGH is a leading manufacturer of technical textiles, fabrics and yarns used in the appliance industry, industrial markets, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Essential Functions:

  • Perform all tasks as assigned by supervisor.
  • Inspect and label product per quality requirements.
  • Troubleshoot the equipment and minimize downtime.
  • Track production utilizing the appropriate visual management or documentation tools.
  • Escalate safety, quality concerns or machine malfunction to the supervisor.
  • Move finished goods in the designated area.
  • Rolling gaskets and shrink-wrapping gaskets.
  • Retrieve gaskets from the punch press process.
  • Cross-train in other areas when time permits.
  • Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Requirements
Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous production or manufacturing experience, a plus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is an on-site, full-time position, and the standard work schedule is 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday.
Supervisory Experience:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Travel:
This position does not travel.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. independently.

  • Able to perform both gross and fine manipulation

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • The work facility may be hot and/or cold, based on the time of year.
  • Many areas of the production floor have a very high noise level. Hearing protection is required in these areas.
  • Regularly work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Tolerate regular contact with fiberglass and fiberglass fibers.
