Job Overview

Seeking Experienced Government Contracting Consultant – Textile Manufacturing

California Textile Group is seeking an experienced Government Contracting Consultant to help expand our business into federal, state, and local government procurement.

We are a U.S.-based textile manufacturer producing fabrics and textile products, and we are looking for a consultant with a proven track record of winning government contracts in the textile, apparel, military, healthcare, or industrial textile sectors. In addition, we have established partnerships with nonprofit organizations that support workforce development by creating job opportunities for formerly incarcerated individuals and those recently released from jail. We also bring a strong track record of experience in the textile manufacturing field.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify relevant government bid opportunities (SAM.gov, DLA, GSA, state and local agencies, etc.)
  • Advise on certifications and registrations required for government contracting
  • Prepare and submit competitive bids, proposals, and responses to solicitations
  • Assist with compliance requirements, pricing, and contract administration
  • Develop a long-term government contracting strategy for our company

Expected Deliverables:

  • Comprehensive assessment of current readiness for government contracting
  • Completed registrations and certifications
  • Curated list of targeted bid opportunities
  • Submission of high-quality proposals and bids
  • Strategic roadmap for long-term government contracting growth
  • Proposal templates and compliance documentation

Timeline:
Phase 1 (0–30 days): Assessment and registrations
Phase 2 (30–90 days): Opportunity identification and proposal submissions
Phase 3 (90–180 days): Ongoing bid submissions and contract pursuit

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven success obtaining government contracts for manufacturers
  • Experience with DOD, DLA, GSA, VA, FEMA, or similar agencies
  • Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, Buy American Act, and Berry Amendment
  • Excellent proposal writing and project management skills
  • References and examples of successful contract awards
