Join Bridgerland Technical College as a Part-Time Bookstore Specialist
Are you organized, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment? Bridgerland Technical College is seeking a Part-Time Bookstore Specialist to join our team in Logan, Utah.
This onsite position offers the opportunity to work directly with students, faculty, staff, and community members while supporting the daily operations of the college bookstore. You'll help customers locate the materials they need, manage merchandise and inventory, process transactions, and create a welcoming shopping experience.
There are two regular work schedule openings:
  • Monday through Thursday: 1:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m.
  • Friday: 10:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

- or -
  • Monday through Thursday: 7:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

What You'll Do
As a Part-Time Bookstore Specialist, you'll provide excellent customer service while supporting bookstore sales, inventory management, merchandising, and daily closing operations.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Greet and assist students, faculty, staff, and community members in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Help customers locate textbooks, supplies, merchandise, and other bookstore products.
  • Answer questions regarding product availability, pricing, location, and use.
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Accept payments, calculate discounts, count change, and bag merchandise.
  • Process and authorize returns, exchanges, account charges, and employee purchases according to bookstore procedures.
  • Maintain proper cash control and ensure transactions are completed accurately.
  • Stock shelves, counters, and displays with merchandise.
  • Create attractive displays and arrange merchandise to promote sales.
  • Price, tag, and organize bookstore merchandise.
  • Maintain clean, orderly, and well-stocked shelves and customer areas.
  • Perform daily inventory audits and assist with inventory counts.
  • Review and manage inventory levels for assigned product areas.
  • Create and receive purchase orders.
  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers regarding merchandise and orders.
  • Work closely with department heads and managers to maintain appropriate textbook and supply inventory.
  • Manage weekly merchandise transfers.
  • Maintain and update textbook and supply lists for assigned areas.
  • Complete end-of-day closing procedures.
  • Balance and reconcile the cash register with the daily sales report.
  • Prepare and secure nightly deposits.
  • Complete closing documentation and follow established store security procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
