Automotive Sales Consultant
Greenway Ford | CDJR | GMC, a family-owned dealership in Morris, IL since 1967, is expanding and looking for both entry-level and experienced Sales Consultants to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, customer-focused professional who enjoys building relationships, working toward goals, and earning compensation based on performance. Previous automotive experience is valuable, but it is not required. We are willing to train the right person who brings a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and the desire to build a successful career.
At Greenway, customer satisfaction and long-term relationships are at the center of everything we do. You will have access to established dealership processes, modern technology, ongoing training, and an extensive selection of new Ford, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and GMC vehicles.
Compensation: $50,000 - $110,000 annually, full-time
Schedule:
  • Monday through Friday: 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. (One scheduled day off between Monday and Friday)
  • Saturday: 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
  • Closed Sundays

Job Responsibilities
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries received by phone, text, email, video, social media, internet leads, and walk-in traffic.
  • Welcome customers, ask thoughtful questions, and listen carefully to understand their needs, preferences, and buying motivations.
  • Build lasting customer relationships through clear communication, honesty, professionalism, and consistent follow-up.
  • Develop strong knowledge of our Ford, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, GMC, and pre-owned vehicle inventory.
  • Help customers compare vehicles, features, options, and available solutions based on their individual needs.
  • Conduct engaging vehicle demonstrations and test drives.
  • Guide customers through each stage of the sales process, from the initial conversation through final vehicle delivery.
  • Follow Greenway's established sales process to provide every customer with a consistent, high-quality experience.
  • Use VinSolutions CRM, mobile applications, iPads, video, and other digital tools to manage leads and customer communication.
  • Maintain accurate and complete customer records in the CRM.
  • Follow up after each sale to confirm customer satisfaction, answer questions, and encourage future business and referrals.
  • Complete all required manufacturer training and certifications.
  • Stay informed about new vehicles, product updates, incentives, market trends, and dealership inventory.
  • Work with sales leadership to improve close rates, customer satisfaction, gross average, and monthly sales performance.
  • Assist with the appearance and organization of vehicle displays and dealership inventory.

Experience and Qualifications
Previous automotive sales experience is not required. Candidates with experience in sales, customer service, hospitality, education, or other relationship-focused roles are encouraged to apply.

  • Automotive or retail sales experience

  • Familiarity with VinSolutions CRM
