Primary Purpose:
Provide regular classroom instruction in the absence of teachers.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Minimum of high school diploma or GED
Texas Teacher Certification preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
* Knowledge of acceptable classroom behavior standards
* Knowledge of district classroom policies/procedures
* Knowledge of designated campus classroom policies
* Knowledge of acceptable teaching practices
* Skill in applying acceptable classroom management
* Skill in coping with a variety of students in varied situations
* Skill in coping with stressful situations
* Skill in applying/using acceptable teaching practices
* Ability to create and maintain a climate of respect and fairness for all students
Experience:
No prior experience necessary
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Serve as substitute teacher/paraprofessional at assigned campus.
2. Teach assigned classes following regular teacher lesson plans.
3. Maintain environment conducive to learning.
4. Perform instructional duties as assigned when not serving in a substitute teacher capacity.
