Postdoctoral Associate
Job Summary
The Postdoctoral Associate will conduct integrated experimental and theoretical research on the mechano-electrochemical behavior of battery electrodes and active particles. The primary function of the position is to develop and deploy advanced experimental platforms for coupled electrochemical-mechanical measurements, including optical quantification of deformation at the electrode and single-particle scales, and to perform systematic electrochemical testing across coin, pouch, and cylindrical cells.
The postdoc will analyze chemo-mechanical phenomena in porous electrodes and individual particles, and contribute to the development of physics-based models, including porous electrode theory and single-particle frameworks. Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, or a closely related field, with 0-3 years of relevant research experience in battery systems or electrochemical energy storage.
  • Knowledge of electrochemistry, battery materials, and electrochemical testing methods.
  • Knowledge of chemo-mechanics and coupled electrochemical-mechanical phenomena in electrodes and active particles.
