Job description


VENTEON is hiring a Dynamometer Test Cell Operator to work in Hayward, CA. Person will operate and support dynamometer test cells for propulsion and driveline systems. This includes working with dynamometer control software, performing test equipment calibrations, and executing troubleshooting efforts on test cell equipment.
POSITION TYPE: Direct Hire position. WORKING ARRANGEMENT: Weekends only Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (Night Shift).
PAY: $68,500 - $83,000 annually based on education, years of experience, and skill level.
Requirements of The Dyno Test Cell Operator:
  • Degree and /or Certifications are a major plus. HS Diploma required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English language required.
  • A minimum three years of work experience operating dynamometers and conducting vehicle testing and validation required.
  • Work experience in the automotive or aerospace industries required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Problem solving, strategic thinking and analytical skills. Time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills needed.
  • Able to function as part of a team and work cooperatively toward team goals.
  • Strong proficiency in testing applications and can learn new technical systems.

Duties of the Dyno Test Cell Operator:
  • Work effectively with all levels of employees, customers, and suppliers.
  • Translating documents and conversations from customers into fully functional dynamometer tests.
  • Set up and operate engine, motor, or component dynamometers according to test plans and specifications.
  • Setting up small scale testing equipment which includes analog sensors, electrical instruments, cooling systems, and other customer driven requirements. Electrical wiring of internal and external sensors to our data acquisition system and our industrial drive systems.
  • Calibrating testing equipment such as torque meters, pressure sensors, and flow meters
  • Operating and supporting dynamometer testing in-house developed dynamometer control software. This includes configuring channel setups and writing automated test scripts.
  • Monitor test runs, record performance data, and identify anomalies or equipment issues.
  • Troubleshooting of testing systems and customer product issues.
  • Collaborating with teams to create concepts and deliverables used to efficiently complete customer test requests and internal projects.
  • Test Cell Operators will not be responsible for any opinions or interpretations of customer test data.
