Data Migration Test Manager

Responsibilities

  • Leads data migration testing for a largescale transformation program moving a major Canadian bank off its existing Book of Record (BOR) onto the new target FNZ solution

  • Owns the endtoend Data Migration Test Strategy in alignment with the overall program testing strategy

  • Defines migration test scope, phases, entry/exit criteria, and riskbased prioritization

  • Partners with migration, architecture, and platform teams to validate data mappings, transformation rules, load logic and business outcomes

  • Oversees testing across end-to-end migration testing and the functional testing of migrated data in anticipation of dress rehearsals and cutover events

  • Defines and manages reconciliation, validation, and data integrity testing, including balances, positions, transactions, GLs, and regulatory outputs

  • Leads datarelated defect management, rootcause analysis, and retest coordination

  • Ensures traceability, auditability, and evidence suitable for regulators and external auditors

  • Provides clear status, risks, and metrics to testing and program senior leadership and client stakeholders

Experience required

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Career test professional with strong background in Financial Services (Canadian wealth/banking experience preferable)

  • Extensive experience of working in client facing test delivery/engagement roles

  • Stong understanding of ETL processes and tooling (Extract, Transform, Load) and how data flows from source systems to target platform components

  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines

  • Hands-on in both functional and non-functional testing aspects

  • Extensive experience in fast paced Agile environments

  • Experience of delivering services using near shore and offshore teams

  • ISTQB Advanced Test Manager Certification (preferable)

  • Extensive experience in JIRA, XRAY, Confluence

  • Deep understanding of test matrices, KPI's, SLA's, benchmarks etc.

  • Should be able to articulate complex data in easily palatable form

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Efficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Adaptability as we are looking for someone that can shift between projects and workload and be productive quickly.

  • Proactive - Ability to identify and discuss improvements to current processes.

  • Ability to work effectively and to prioritise own and teams workload.
