This program provides software development and technical support services to sustain, enhance, and optimize a critical customer system through secure, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.

The Test Engineer / QA Lead will lead all quality assurance and software testing activities throughout the software development lifecycle. This role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive manual and automated testing strategies, managing the software defect lifecycle, supporting cybersecurity accreditation activities, and ensuring software releases meet the highest standards for functionality, security, performance, accessibility, and reliability. Working closely with software engineers, architects, DevSecOps engineers, database administrators, and Government stakeholders, the QA Lead will help ensure every release is thoroughly validated before deployment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test suites supporting web applications, APIs, databases, and system integrations.
  • Create and maintain detailed manual test cases and test procedures for scenarios that require manual validation.
  • Develop reusable automated testing frameworks to improve testing efficiency and release quality.
  • Manage the complete software defect lifecycle, including defect identification, documentation, prioritization, verification, and closure in collaboration with development teams.
  • Provide regular testing status updates, metrics, and quality reports to the Government Test Manager and program leadership.
  • Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities by producing required testing evidence, security validation documentation, and accreditation artifacts.
  • Validate software compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), ensuring zero accessibility defects through automated and manual testing.
  • Verify software security scan results and ensure new vulnerabilities are remediated or properly documented, including validation of false positives.
  • Collaborate with Agile development teams to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and quality objectives for each sprint.
  • Participate in peer reviews, sprint planning, release planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote quality engineering best practices, test automation, and continuous testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
