Position: Human Resources and Benefits Manager Employment Type: Full Time Location: Falls Church, VA (Onsite) The Role: Tesla Government is seeking an experienced Human Resources & Benefits Manager to lead and optimize our people operations, employee experience, and total rewards programs. This role is ideal for a strategic HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, growing organization and enjoys balancing high-level workforce strategy with hands-on HR operations. The HR & Benefits Manager will oversee the employee lifecycle post-recruitment, employee relations, compliance, performance management, payroll coordination, and benefits administration.

This position will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees while ensuring our HR programs remain compliant, scalable, and employee-focused. About Us: Tesla Government Inc. Position Summary: The Human Resources & Benefits Manager reports to the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for leading HR and benefits functions across the organization. This includes employee relations, performance management, leave management, payroll support, compliance, benefits strategy, and policy development.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in benefits administration and HR operations and an understanding of employment compliance, while also contributing strategic guidance to leadership on talent retention, employee engagement, and organizational growth. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (others may be assigned) Partner with leadership to develop and execute HR and benefits strategies aligned with business objectives Manage the full post-recruitment employee lifecycle, including supporting onboarding and offboarding and HR files. Ensure company compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including maintaining 100% compliance with Form I-9 and E-Verify regulations Lead employee relations matters, investigations, disciplinary actions, accommodations, and terminations Administer health, welfare, retirement, leave, and other employee benefit programs Manage vendor and broker relationships for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k) plans Lead annual open enrollment, benefits renewals, census reporting, and employee education sessions Review benefits utilization trends and renewal proposals to optimize plan design and cost efficiency Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, FLSA, HIPAA, payroll regulations, and applicable federal/state employment laws Maintain and update employee handbook, HR policies, and standard operating procedures Manage performance review cycles and support manager coaching and employee development initiatives Track HR metrics and prepare reporting on retention, benefits usage, compensation trends, and workforce planning Support learning and development initiatives, succession planning, and internal career growth opportunities Conduct periodic audits of employee files, I-9 documentation, benefits records, and 401(k) processes Assist with business development efforts as needed What Success Looks Like: Employees experience a smooth benefits enrollment process and experience Benefits programs remain competitive, cost-effective, and well-utilized by employees Managers receive trusted guidance on employee relations, performance, and team development Benefits processes run accurately and on time with minimal escalations Leadership has access to actionable workforce data and HR insights for decision-making Required Qualifications: 10 years of progressive HR experience, including benefits administration, leave administration and HR operations leadership Strong working knowledge of ERISA, ACA, FMLA, FLSA, COBRA, HIPAA, payroll regulations, and employment law compliance Experience managing 401(k), open enrollment, vendor renewals, and employee benefits communication Demonstrated success handling sensitive employee relations matters with discretion and professionalism Strong analytical skills with experience reporting on HR metrics and trends Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills High level of integrity, judgment, and confidentiality Desired Experience: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred Experience supporting government contracting or federal client environments Familiarity with HRIS/payroll systems and benefits platforms in a multi-state environment Hands-on experience handling self-insured benefits administration, claims tracking, and employee inquiries Experience scaling HR programs in a fast-growing small business environment Advanced proficiency in Google Suite and reporting tools Background in compensation analysis and rewards strategy To apply please submit: Resume Cover Letter Compensation: The expected initial salary for this role is $125,000 - $134,000 annually.

Actual compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, certifications, geographic location, and organizational needs. Individual compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to base salary, Tesla Government offers a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings options, paid time off, paid holidays, and professional development opportunities.
