Job description

Job Summary:
Tesla's Energy Products Software team is building the next-generation Powerwall Sales Tool — a platform that empowers channel partners to sell Tesla Powerwall to homeowners. The Staff Fullstack Software Engineer will be responsible for building tools that help partners demonstrate the value of Powerwall, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Build and own full-stack features across the Powerwall Sales Tool platform using React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and Rust
• Develop interactive tools that model energy savings, time-of-use arbitrage, solar self-consumption, and backup power value for homeowners based on their actual utility rate and usage
• Create proposal and quoting workflows that channel partners use to close sales
• Integrate with utility rate databases, weather/solar resource APIs, and Tesla's internal product and pricing systems
• Build responsive, mobile-first UIs designed for in-home sales conversations
• Implement and scale backend services
• Collaborate closely with Product Management, Account Managers, and the Powerwall hardware team to translate product requirements into software
• Write comprehensive tests (unit, integration, e2e) and maintain high code quality standards
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5+ years of full-stack software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, and GraphQL
• Experience building customer-facing SaaS products, preferably B2B2C (tools used by partners to serve end customers)
• Ability to work with complex data models — rate schedules, time-series energy data, financial calculations
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (Argo, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong product sense — you can translate ambiguous business requirements into clean, usable software
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally
Preferred:
• Experience in the solar, energy storage, or clean energy industry, including familiarity with utility rate structures and how they drive battery economics
• Experience building proposal/quoting tools, configurators, or sales enablement platforms
• Background in data visualization and interactive modeling tools
Company:
Tesla is an electric vehicle and clean energy company that provides electric cars, solar, and renewable energy solutions. Founded in 2003, the company is headquartered in Austin, USA, with a team of 10001+ employees. The company is currently Late Stage.
