Job description

Job Summary:
Tesla is a leader in vehicle engineering, focusing on innovative design and manufacturing processes. As a Software Product Manager on the Design Technology team, you will drive the development of software applications that enhance the design process, ensuring they meet customer needs and business objectives.
Responsibilities:
• Discover and prioritize the most important problems to solve through deep understanding of your customers and their needs
• Define metrics for measuring business impact and use them to make data-driven prioritization decisions
• Define and socialize product vision, strategy, and an outcome-based roadmap
• Prepare actionable epics, stories, and bugs and collaborate with the Technical Lead on maintaining a prioritized backlog for the team, balancing business outcomes with tasks that enable the team to reliably deliver customer value at a sustainable pace
• Validate that delivered solutions solve intended business objectives by applying predefined measures
• Coordinate release of software, including release notes, documentation, training, and internal marketing
Qualifications:
Required:
• Degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability
• Strong focus on user-centered design and measurable outcomes
Preferred:
• Experience managing software development (e.g. software product manager) strongly preferred
• Experience working in an organization that designs and manufactures complex hardware products preferred
• Experience with mechanical design engineering processes preferred
• Experience creating operational metrics and dashboards preferred
