Job description

Title: Laboratory Technician I

Location: Jersey Shore, PA

Reports To: Lab Manager

Pay/Salary: $17.00 Per Hour

Schedule: Mon - Fri, 06:00 am to 2:30 pm

Job Description

Terrapin is looking for a Laboratory Technician I to join our growing company. As a Clinton County, Penn.-based cannabis company, Terrapin is a pioneer in the emerging industry. Terrapin is a cultivator, processor and retailer of high-quality medical and recreational cannabis products. With over 15 years of industry experience, Terrapin was licensed to operate in the Pennsylvania marketplace in 2017, growing to more than 200 employees.

At the direction of the Laboratory Manager or other lab staff, the Laboratory Technician 1 is responsible for performing efficient set up / tear down, manufacture and cleaning of all equipment and processes associated with manufacturing operations with general supervision or partnership with other lab technicians. The Laboratory Technician 1 is responsible for adhering to policies and procedures with an emphasis on regulatory related processes such as SOPs and safety to meet the business needs of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for carrying out duties involving raw material preparation for the extraction of crude oil. This includes operating and maintaining grinding equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean area, including infrastructure and equipment.
  • Assisting the extraction team with preparation of materials for the day's extractions as well as helping to tear down, turn around, and set back up extraction equipment as needed.
  • Learn all paperwork associated with the organization of prepping material for extraction.
  • Assist other areas and departments as needed.
  • Handling of raw materials for product assembly
  • Manipulation of pails/totes to and from storage requirements
  • Pail/tote weight <1kg. (Empty) to 20kg (max. full weight) multiple times per shift
  • Function well on the team and follow all safety guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • Must be able to pass state-mandated background checks.
  • Education or Equivalent: A high school diploma is required. Prior laboratory experience is preferred, though not required.
