Overview:

Pembina Pipeline's Marketing Business Unit is actively hiring a Senior Marine Exports Specialist to join a high-performing team at the center of our integrated value chain. Reporting to the Director, NGL Marketing, this Senior Marine Exports Specialist will play a visible and impactful role in driving commercial results-supporting the buying and selling of natural gas, NGLs, condensate, and crude oil while optimizing storage and enabling the efficient movement of products across marine, pipeline, and rail networks.


As a Senior Marine Exports Specialist, you will operate at the intersection of markets and operations, partnering across functions to unlock value, enhance asset utilization, and advance strategic growth opportunities across Pembina's portfolio. You will also lead the commercial and operational execution of Pembina's marine export portfolio, including vessel marketing, freight optimization, and contract management, while building strong customer relationships and coordinating marine logistics in support of key assets such as the Prince Rupert Terminal, Third-Party export facilities, and future West Coast expansion initiatives.
Pembina's Marketing Business Unit (MBU) drives value through the strategic buying, selling, and optimization of natural gas, NGLs (ethane, propane, butane), condensate, and crude oil, leveraging market intelligence and arbitrage opportunities across the value chain. By contracting capacity on Pembina-owned and third-party pipelines and utilizing the Company's rail fleet and logistics capabilities, the MBU enhances market access and pricing for both Pembina and Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (WCSB) producers, while also identifying and advancing commercial opportunities that support the growth and optimization of Pembina's broader asset portfolio.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

Marine Commercial & Marketing

  • Contribute to the development and execution of Pembina's marine export marketing strategy;
  • Actively market marine cargoes to existing and prospective customers across Asia and other international markets;
  • Participate in structuring and advancing CFR and FOB commercial arrangements;
  • Build and sustain relationships with key marine customers, vessel operators, and export counterparties;
  • Identify and drive commercial optimization opportunities across Pembina's domestic and export propane portfolio;
  • Engage in the negotiation of marine transportation agreements, vessel charters, and related commercial terms; and
  • Oversee administration of export agreements, including resolving commercial settlements, demurrage, scheduling conflicts, and invoicing matters.

Strategic Growth & Business Development

  • Drive the identification and assessment of growth opportunities across marine exports, logistics infrastructure, vessel utilization, and market access;
  • Lead the advancement of future export initiatives and the formation of strategic commercial partnerships;
  • Originate and evaluate opportunities with existing and prospective counterparties, including terminal operators, shipping companies, and international customers;
  • Execute commercial assessments of new marine infrastructure investments and export expansion opportunities; and
  • Represent Pembina at industry conferences and customer engagements, strengthening market presence and advancing commercial objectives.


Marine Operations & Logistics

  • Lead vessel scheduling, laycan planning, and end-to-end voyage execution to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable cargo movements;
  • Steward seamless coordination across Operations, Logistics, Marketing, Rail, and Terminal teams to enable flawless execution;
  • Monitor vessel performance in real time, proactively mitigating disruptions and optimizing operational outcomes;
  • Provide on-the-ground commercial and operational stewardship for marine activities at Prince Rupert Terminal and future export facilities; and
  • Issue voyage instructions and lead the coordination of cargo sales execution, ensuring alignment between commercial agreements and operational delivery.
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in marine transportation, commodity marketing, logistics, shipping, NGL/LPG markets, international trade, or related commercial roles, with demonstrated ability to translate market insight into measurable commercial outcomes;
  • Proven strength in written and verbal communication, including the ability to clearly articulate complex commercial, operational, and market concepts to internal stakeholders and external partners;
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise (SME) in areas such as marine freight, vessel chartering, NGL/LPG markets, and global commodity flows, with the ability to apply knowledge to drive value and informed decision-making;
  • Experience negotiating commercial agreements and building trusted, long-term customer and partner relationships, with a strong focus on delivering mutually beneficial outcomes;
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline (e.g., economics, accounting, marketing, business) is considered an asset;
  • Strong analytical capability with high attention to detail; able to synthesize data, identify trends, and deliver accurate, actionable insights under tight timelines;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, balance multiple stakeholders, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment;
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make timely, well-informed decisions while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a commitment to precision and excellence in all aspects of work;
  • Collaborative and relationship-focused, with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within cross-functional teams;
