TEXAS LEHIGH CEMENT COMPANY - ROANOKE, TX

$20 - $24/hr. based on experience

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Terminal Manager, the Terminal Operators are responsible for the safe operation of a cement distribution terminal. It requires the hands-on operation and occasional maintenance of all terminal equipment, developing a proficiency in bulk truck and bulk railcar operations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently load and unload goods from trucks, railcars and vessels.
  • Ensure goods are stored in appropriate locations and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Loads bulk unit trucks correctly, providing legal weights and proper product for customer delivery or pick up.
  • Operate heavy equipment
  • Maintaining terminal buildings and equipment in good condition and operating equipment safely.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, team members, managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Fosters a positive work environment and promotes teamwork.
  • Support and maintain the company safety program by performing work area inspections, holding safety toolbox talks, and complying with environmental regulations.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a secure and clean work environment.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and ensure it is in good working order.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned by management to meet the ongoing needs of operations.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow warning labels, safety instructions, and signage.
  • Ability to work various shifts, including rotating, extended hours, and respond to call outs.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Accurate record-keeping and organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work conditions and prioritize.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in demanding physical conditions include walking over rough and uneven surfaces, climbing ladders up to 20 feet and stairs, bending, pushing, pulling, and working in awkward positions, working in confined spaces, lifting and carrying materials up to 50 pounds frequently, 75 pounds occasionally, and 100 pounds rarely.
  • Ability to pass required background checks, physical examination, and drug screening.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Prior experience with rotating shift work and extended hours is preferred.
  • Prior industry experience preferred.
