Department: Operations
Reports to: Operations Manager
Status: Non-Exempt
Starting at $15/ Hour
1. Job Purpose/Objective:
This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer services to guests while on tour. Providing narration relative to the surrounding areas in an educational, historical, and entertaining manner.
2. Essential Job Functions:
Incumbent may perform any or all of the following:
  • Utilize manifests and/or name lists to gather and load guests onto vehicles
  • Work in conjunction with driver(s) to execute tours in a timely manner
  • Attend to guests while on tour
  • Provide educational, historical, and entertaining narratives pertaining to surrounding area(s)
  • Relay pertinent safety protocols to guests on tour in relation to vehicle and areas on route
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

3. Essential Skills (Minimum qualifications individual must possess when entering position) - i.e. skillsets, education, certifications, etc.
  • In depth knowledge of Hawaiian History and local flora and fauna.
  • Customer Service - Handles customer questions and complaints, communicates with customers, handles service problems politely and efficiently, follows procedure to solve customer problems, understands company products and services, maintains pleasant and professional image
  • Decision Making / Judgment - Recognizes problems and responds, seeks input from others, makes timely decisions, can make difficult decisions in the face of adversity, and communicates decisions to others.
  • Dependability - Meets commitments, works independently, accepts accountability, handles change, stays focused under pressure, and meets attendance/punctuality requirements.
  • Job Knowledge - Understands duties and responsibilities, has necessary job knowledge, has necessary technical skills, understands company mission/values, keeps job knowledge current, and is in command of critical issues.

  • Some time spent outdoors - may be exposed to wind and rain
  • Light work- exerting up to 20 pounds of force on occasion, involves sitting most of the time
  • Talking- must be able to convey detailed or important spoken instructions to fellow employees and guests
  • Hearing-being able to receive detailed information through oral communication
  • Worker not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in a typical or administrative work)
  • Work is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer terminal and preparing schedules and inputting data onto computers
