What Youโ€™ll Do (Summary of role)

This position is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining pumps, pipes, fixtures and

other plumbing used for water distribution and waste water disposal throughout the Zoo and Park.



Day to Day Responsibilities (Limit to most important/top 10 duties if possible)


โ€ข Act autonomously and professionally in all areas of responsibilities.

โ€ข Respond to Work Requests in a timely manner.

โ€ข As needed repair and replace property including, but not limited to motors, pipes, plumbing, etc.

โ€ข Maintain equipment.

โ€ข Recommend changes and solutions to Facilities related issues.

โ€ข Maintain all building codes and installation requirements.

โ€ข Reports safety concerns or hazards to the Plumbing Manager.

โ€ข Accomplishes other tasks as may be required and assigned.

โ€ข Must follow all guidelines, rules or regulations regarding Zoo and Park operations.

โ€ข Must follow all regulations regarding animal safety and care.

โ€ข Must have a willingness to participate in continuing education classes as deemed necessary by Facilities Director.

โ€ข Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, evenings, and weekends is needed

โ€ข Responsible for all water features within the zoo and park, including Cool Zoo.

โ€ข Assists with cool zoo and lazy river repairs as needed.

What Weโ€™re Looking For


Must Haves: (required for the role)

โ€ข Journeyman certification in Plumbing from a recognized accredited post-secondary institution

โ€ข High School Diploma.

โ€ข Minimum three years of experience working with electric motors, pumps, and plumbing.

โ€ข Must have the ability to use mobile devices, computers, fax, scanner, phone, and copy machine.


Nice-to-Haves: (preferred for the role)

โ€ข Able to operate equipment such as backhoes, skid steers, and forklifts.

โ€ข


Physical Requirements: (Add per list provided based on role type)

โ€ข Must exert up to 75 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

โ€ข Sitting or standing, bending, stooping, and the ability to carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.

โ€ข Constant adequate range of motion and mobility required.

โ€ข Regular near acuity with clarity of vision at 20 inches or less required.
