Job description

Title: Maintenance Technician โ€“ Surface Go Refresh Program


Location:
Centralized Location


Reports to: Project Manager


Duration: 8 Weeks (Temporary, Full-Time)

Job Description: Each of the Maintenance Technicians processes dozens of units/day performing cleaning, testing, and re-imaging. This role supports the project by ensuring efficiency within the defined program parameters.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean units with microfiber cloths, isopropyl wipes, and compressed air, using materials within budget.
  • Test functionality: touchscreen, keyboard, Wi-Fi, USB-C, audio.
  • Re-image units using DMPS current image via USB recovery drives.
  • Connect re-imaged units to Wi-Fi and run Windows Update for patches.
  • Flag defective units for the DMPS On-site Repair Technicians.
  • Maintain workstation setup (USB recovery media, cleaning supplies and repackaging material) for batch processing.
  • Collaborate with Team Lead and peers to achieve daily units completion goals.

Qualifications:

  • Basic experience in laptop maintenance or IT support.
  • Familiarity with Windows OS and re-imaging a plus.
  • Attention to detail for cleaning and testing.
  • Ability to follow standardized workflows in a high-throughput environment.
  • Comfortable using cleaning supplies and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong time-management and teamwork skills.
