Job description

    Surgical Technologist Instructor – Practice Your Specialty in a New Way

    Are you a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) ready to make an impact in a different way?

    At Pima Medical Institute, you won't leave your clinical expertise behind—you'll use it to train the next generation of surgical technologists, shape our program, and work in your specialty in a completely new way.

    Location: Tucson Campus
    Full-time: 40 hours  (Full-time with benefits or Temporary) 
    Class Schedule: 8 am to 5 pm
    Compensation: $28.19 to $35.23
       

    In this role, you will also:
    Implement daily lesson plans; monitor student attendance and success rates; maintain grades; coordinate guest speakers and field trips; deliver lectures and demonstrations; advise students; ensure safety; and assist with externships.

    Minimum Qualifications – you must have: 

    • Associate degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution (CHEA or USDE-recognized) and/or training from an otherwise recognized entity (e.g., military program) in surgical technology equivalent to an Associate Degree.
    • And one of the following experience paths:
      • 4 years of job-related training and experience (if not a graduate of an accredited surgical technology program), or
      • 3 years of operating room experience in the scrub role within the last 5 years, and/or 3 years teaching in surgical technology
    • Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through an NCCA-accredited national certification program
    • Current license, NBSTSA certification, or other credential as required by local, state, and/or federal laws
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and basic computer skills
