What is a temporary video game reviewer?

Temporary video game reviewers are individuals hired on a short-term basis to play and evaluate video games, often for magazines, websites, or game studios. They provide written or video reviews, assess gameplay elements, graphics, story, and overall user experience. Their feedback helps inform potential players and contributes to the game's reputation. Temporary reviewers may be brought in during peak review seasons, before major releases, or to cover for full-time staff on leave.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a temporary video game reviewer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Temporary Video Game Reviewer, you need strong writing skills, a deep understanding of video game mechanics, and familiarity with popular gaming platforms, often supported by a relevant portfolio or samples. Experience with content management systems, gameplay capture tools, and basic video editing software is typically important.
