About the Job
Catface is seeking a creative Showrunner who has a passion for compelling storytelling in YouTube and direct media. You'll own the creative vision and execution of our gameplay content, ensuring every video hooks viewers, delivers on its promise, and keeps them coming back. This role requires deep knowledge of what works in the YouTube space, strong directorial instincts, and the ability to shape raw gameplay (especially in Minecraft and Roblox) into stories that resonate with audiences.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Direct the creative vision and narrative arc of each video, ensuring every piece of content tells a compelling story that hooks viewers and drives retention. Comedy, romance, and young adult themes will give you an advantage!
  • Serve as in-game Director during recordings, making real-time creative decisions that enhance storytelling and viewer engagement.
  • Use your understanding of YouTube algorithms, audience behavior, and platform trends to shape content that performs-from thumbnail concepts to pacing decisions.
  • Review edits with a director's eye, identifying opportunities to strengthen story beats, improve pacing, and add creative elements that boost appeal.
  • Analyze performance data to understand what's working and why, then apply those insights to continuously evolve our creative approach.
  • Oversee the production pipeline from concept to publish, ensuring quality and efficiency while maintaining creative standards.
  • Pitch story direction to the Senior Creative Producer and share collaboration on trending storylines.
  • Provide clear creative direction and feedback to production and post-production teams, ensuring everyone understands the story we're telling and why it matters.
  • Conduct pre-production planning and run-throughs to ensure recordings capture the moments and story elements needed for a successful video.
  • Bridge communication between creative and technical teams, translating creative vision into executable production plans.
  • Be available to support weekend review rotations as needed.

What We're Looking For:
  • Proven ability to craft stories that work on YouTube-you understand narrative structure, pacing, hooks, and what makes viewers click and stay.
  • Strong directorial instincts with experience directing video content, whether in-game, on-set, or in post-production.
  • Deep knowledge of the YouTube platform-you stay current on what's working, understand audience psychology, and can articulate why certain content performs.
  • 2+ years of experience in video production for digital platforms, with a track record of content that resonates with audiences.
  • Genuine passion for Minecraft/Roblox/YouTube gaming content and an understanding of what makes gaming videos compelling to watch.
  • Ability to make creative decisions quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
  • Strong communication skills-you can articulate creative vision clearly and inspire teams to execute it.
  • Knowledge of video editing tools and production workflows.
  • Based in Austin, TX, or willing to relocate.

This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about YouTube gaming content, enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, and is eager to take on the challenge of ensuring the highest video production standards.
What We Offer
  • Excellent Medical, Dental and Vision health benefits
  • 401(k) contribution
  • Flexible time off
  • Lunch, snacks and drinks provided in the office
  • Pets in the office once a month
  • Onsite fitness center
  • Learning Stipend
  • Relocation assistance for those coming from outside Austin.
