Job description


POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager, Government Relations - Tax & Trade will play an important role in advocating for the company's tax and trade policy interests across the globe and within industry groups. This position requires a strategic thinker with an understanding of regulatory environments and the ability to develop and implement advocacy strategies that protect and promote the company's business interests and growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Advocacy and Representation:
    • Manage day-to-day interactions with government officials, regulatory agencies, and industry groups on tax and trade policy matters, while supporting broader Government Relations priorities and strategic objectives.
    • Serve as subject-matter expert in interactions with government officials, regulatory agencies, and industry groups on the subjects of tax policy and trade policy.
    • Support relationships with key stakeholders to influence policy and regulatory decisions.
    • Support advocacy for the company on legislative and regulatory issues involving tax, trade, and related topics.
  • Regulatory Analysis and Strategy:
    • Monitor and analyze tax and trade regulatory changes in key geographies where the company operates.
    • Assess the impact of regulatory developments on the company's operations and business strategy.
    • Help implement advocacy strategies to address trade challenges and opportunities.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Communicate regulatory and legislative developments to internal stakeholders.
    • Prepare briefing materials, reports, and presentations on government relations activities.
    • Support the government relations team on other specified projects as needed.
  • Industry Engagement:
    • Participate in industry associations trade working groups and coalitions to advance the company's interests.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 7 years of related work experience.
  • Good understanding of regulatory processes and government structures.
  • Proactive, decisive and able to work independently on a broad variety of subjects.
  • Strong detailed orientation and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, which includes ability to remain objective and use discretion in all situations.
  • Highly collaborative and team oriented, able to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Resourceful, with a problem-solving aptitude, and ability to manage and resolve complex and sensitive situations while managing confidential information appropriately and professionally.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preferred 10+ years of related work experience.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree required (preferably in the fields of Political Science, Public Policy, Accounting, Tax, or Law)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasional travel

The anticipated salary range for this role in the Washington, DC locality is between $116,472 to $145,591 per year, salary ranges for other geographic localities may vary. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance and are role based. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to receive and/or participate in profit sharing, allowances, travel and/or car expenses, and earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization depending on the terms of the employee's role and individual offer
