Our sawmill facility is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Tilt Hoist Operator to join our Night Shift team. This is a key production role responsible for managing the steady flow of logs into the mill. If you’re confident operating heavy equipment and thrive in a fast-paced industrial environment, this opportunity is for you.

Position Summary

The Tilt Hoist Operator is responsible for operating the tilt hoist system to safely and efficiently feed logs onto the infeed deck for processing. This role requires strong attention to detail, coordination with other departments, and the ability to maintain smooth production flow throughout the shift.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate tilt hoist controls to load logs onto the infeed deck safely and efficiently

  • Monitor log flow to prevent jams, damage, or downtime

  • Communicate with sawyers, debarker operators, and yard personnel to maintain steady production

  • Inspect logs for visible hazards (metal, excessive debris, irregular size)

  • Maintain proper log alignment and spacing for optimal processing

  • Conduct routine equipment checks and report maintenance issues

  • Keep work area clean and free of debris

  • Follow all safety policies and lockout/tagout procedures
