Job description

Job Title:         CNC Machinist

Client:              Aerospace Industry
Duration:         6 Months (Temp-to-Hire)
Location:         Carson City, NV 89706
Shift:

  • 1st Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (Mon–Fri)
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (Mon–Fri)

Job Summary:

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and performing light programming of CNC machines to produce precision components that meet quality and production standards in an aerospace manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC machines under supervision.
  • Load and inspect parts; make minor program edits when needed.
  • Measure and verify parts meet engineering specifications using precision tools.
  • Perform part modifications and surface blending with hand or power tools.
  • Read and follow blueprints, work instructions, and production specs.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and housekeeping.
  • Comply with Quality Control Manual (QCM) and ISO–TCS requirements.
  • Use computerized tracking systems to log production and inspection data.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Prior CNC machining experience or technical training preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and instructions.
    • Proficient with hand-held measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
    • Basic math and mechanical aptitude.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
    • English reading, writing, and communication skills required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Carry components (up to 10 lbs) for distances up to 100 yards.
  • Must request assistance for items over 35 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and manual dexterity required.
