Job description

A structural steel fabrication shop in the Sanford, NC area is hiring experienced Welders for 1st shift. This is a temp-to-hire position paying $18.00-$21.00/hour based on experience, Monday through Friday.
The work focuses on structural building components using flux core (FCAW) as the primary process, with MIG and stick welding as needed. You will be working from blueprints and weld symbols in a shop environment across a range of structural projects. Strong performers on this team convert to permanent employment.

What You Will Do
  • Weld structural carbon steel components using flux core (FCAW), MIG, and stick processes

  • Work independently with minimal supervision and hold your own quality standard

What We Are Looking For
Required:
  • Flux core (FCAW) welding experience
  • MIG and/or stick welding experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand weld symbols
  • Structural steel background
  • Must pass a pre-employment weld test and drug screen
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various positions throughout the shift
Preferred:
  • Multi-process welding experience (FCAW + GMAW + SMAW)
  • Previous experience in a fabrication shop environment
