Temporary Benefits Coordinator

Remote Currently will be Hybrid in Reno, NV 3 Days A Week

Assignment Length: 6+ months
Level: Entry-Level / Early Career

The Temporary Benefits Coordinator provides administrative and customer‐service support to the Benefits team during peak activity periods, including open enrollment. This role assists employees with benefit questions, supports benefit elections, processes documentation, and ensures accurate data entry into HR systems. Ideal for someone detail‐oriented, flexible, and eager to grow in HR/Benefits.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with open enrollment preparation, communication, and employee support.
  • Answer employee questions regarding medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and other benefit offerings.
  • Guide employees through benefit selection and enrollment steps.
  • Enter benefit elections and updates into HRIS and carrier systems with accuracy.
  • Prepare, assemble, and distribute benefits packets and required documentation.
  • Provide high‐quality customer service to employees across multiple locations.
  • Support benefits audits, eligibility checks, and data clean‐up projects.
  • Maintain organized records and ensure confidentiality of employee information.
  • Assist with new‐hire benefits onboarding and status change processing.
  • Collaborate with HR team members on special projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of HR, benefits, or administrative experience preferred (entry‐level candidates with strong customer service encouraged to apply).
  • Strong customer service skills; comfortable assisting employees at all levels.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Experience with HRIS or benefits platforms a plus.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Flexible, dependable, and comfortable in a fast‐paced environment.
