ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

Provide production support for Pega applications, including complex problem research, analysis, resolution, and 24x7 on-call support.
Perform end-to-end production issue triage, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and timely resolution of incidents affecting Pega applications.
Actively lead and participate in production triage calls, demonstrating a dynamic, vocal, and collaborative approach, engaging all stakeholders (business, operations, infrastructure, and development teams) to drive quick resolution.
Lead and participate in the development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of highly complex solutions in adherence to company standards, including robust unit testing and support for subsequent release testing.
Will be responsible for end-to-end interface analysis, rationalization, declaration & definition of Deposits applications and APIs, including production support and stability improvements.
Build non-functional monitoring capabilities and provide escalated support for highly complex applications in production.
Design and implement monitoring, alerting, and incident response mechanisms using tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk to improve production observability.
Build in and maintain security controls and monitoring in support of company standards.
Support and contribute to Pega platform upgrades, including planning, execution, validation, and post-upgrade production stabilization.
Demonstrate hands-on experience with Pega Smart Dispute (preferred) or similar dispute management frameworks.
Typically lead moderately complex projects and participate in larger, more complex initiatives.
Solve complex technical and operational problems. Act as a resource for teammates with less experience.
May oversee the work of a small team and be responsible for driving release/change management from planning to deployment and post validations, including production readiness and go-live support.
Assist with compliance and audit review activities; comply with Truist standards and complete assigned training in a timely manner.
In an Agile environment: Responsible for delivering high-quality working software and automating manual/reusable tasks, working directly and engaging with the business from the beginning of the design work.
Leverage continuous engineering practices to deliver business value and improve effectiveness of design and production stability.
Actively participate in refining user stories with a focus on production supportability and resiliency.
Responsible for design, development, and maintenance of automated unit testing, and supporting integration and functional testing.
Responsible for providing automated monitoring capabilities through tools like Dynatrace and Splunk, providing production warranty support, and facilitating knowledge transfer to production support teams.
Occasionally develop code in accordance with the acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field with 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and training.
2. In-depth knowledge of information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement IT best practices.

3. Strong experience in production support environments, including incident management, triaging, and root cause analysis

4. Proven ability to lead production triage calls and effectively communicate with cross-functional stakeholders

HIGHLY Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with 4-6 years of experience or equivalent education and software engineering training or experience
3+ years of hands-on experience with Pega, including strong exposure to production support and Pega upgrades
Experience with Pega Smart Dispute (nice to have)
Strong experience in triaging production issues in Pega applications and driving resolution across teams
Hands-on experience with the following technology stack:

  • Distributed (Java, OpenShift, AWS, SQL, Middleware services, JSON, .NET, Postgres, DB2, SQL Server, etc.)
    Experience building monitoring and alerting through Dynatrace and Splunk
    Experience using web servers, application containers, caching technologies, GitLab, and schedulers
    Solid knowledge of relational database design and development using Oracle, SQL, stored procedures, and data modeling
    Knowledge of specific applications, technology platforms, programming languages, systems, or business segments
    Banking or financial services experience preferred
    Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design with excellent analytical and debugging skills
    Proven experience building high-quality applications or services from the ground up and scaling at an enterprise level
    Experience working in high-pressure production environments requiring rapid decision-making and stakeholder coordination
