Job description

Brief Job Description: 
Responsible for providing on-site and remote technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, PDU (Power Distribution Units), STS (Static transfer Switches), AHF(Active Harmonic filters) and other similar Power electronics products. The role requires extensive knowledge of UPS systems, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure the reliability and performance of power systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Support:

Provide on-site and remote support for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of UPS systems.

Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues affecting UPS performance.

Assist in the configuration and commissioning of new UPS installations.

  1. Preventive Maintenance:

Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on UPS systems to ensure optimal performance.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including any repairs or replacements.

  1. Customer Interaction:

Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.

Train customers on the proper use and maintenance of UPS systems.

  1. Documentation and Reporting:

Prepare detailed reports of service visits, including diagnostic findings, actions taken, and recommendations for future maintenance.

Maintain up-to-date documentation of all service activities and customer interactions.

  1. Technical Training and Development:

Stay current with the latest developments in UPS technology and industry best practices.

Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

  1. Compliance and Safety:

Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards in all service activities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Diploma/bachelor's degree in electrical engineering/Electronics Engineering.
  • Experience:  Minimum of 4 years of experience in UPS systems support or a related field.

Experience with Vertiv Products is preferable.

  • Technical Skills:

Strong understanding of electrical and electronics principles and UPS technology.

Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing UPS systems.

Familiarity with network protocols and remote monitoring tools.

  • Soft Skills:

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Work Environment:

The position may require travel to customer sites and may involve working in various environmental conditions.

Flexibility to work outside regular business hours for emergency support and maintenance activities.

Additional Requirements:

Ability to travel as needed.

Ability to lift and handle UPS components and equipment
