Job description

WTAMU & Amarillo College IT students! Join our Amarillo team as a Part-Time IT Intern and take your first steps towards a rewarding career in IT.  Ideal opportunity for students currently studying Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering, allowing you to broaden your knowledge and gain hands-on experience in a customer service support role.

Collaborate with seasoned professionals who will mentor and guide you, ensuring you develop the skills needed to successfully step into a technology career.  

Compensation, Work Hours, Location:

*  $17.50/hour 

*  ~20-25 hrs/week, Monday-Friday, flexible hours between 8:00am-5:00pm

*  Onsite at VytlOne offices in downtown Amarillo


You may perform all or some of the following IT functions:

  • Provide first level intake, triage, and escalation for IT and Pharmacy Operations support requests.
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve hardware and associated software and communications problems with computer systems.
  • Perform complex hardware repairs and maintenance on a wide range of PC-based computers and peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot Local issues with equipment like printers, computers, and other hardware issues
  • Provision, modify, and deprovision user access for systems and applications in accordance with access policies and documented standard operating procedures.
  • Document technical processes and support procedures and contribute to standardization to ensure consistency, efficiency, and knowledge sharing
  • Assist in multiple audits: Quarterly system access, software, licensing
  • Maintain a high-level quality of customer service standards in dealing with and responding to questions.

Education: High School Graduation required. Must be enrolled in a Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering program.

Experience: Ideal candidate possesses a strong customer focus, basic knowledge of PC maintenance/repair & application software support, and aptitude for/desire to learn computer maintenance/repair.

  • Assist with troubleshooting issues and provide technical support.
