Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The Enrollment Management unit is responsible for attracting, admitting, and enrolling eligible students, in accordance with university policies. The unit facilitates the development, implementation and monitoring of academic policies, practices and procedures to meet goals related to student progression, performance, and graduation. The unit administers state, federal and institutional financial aid and scholarship programs and collaborates with other campus units in coordinating student transition initiatives that lead to positive adjustment, academic success and persistence to degree completion.
Description of Work
The ECSU Office of Admissions is seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and professional individuals to work as regional admission counselors. This position is responsible for promoting Elizabeth City State University to prospective students, their families, and educators. This role involves conducting recruitment activities, including but not limited to attending college fairs and high school visits. The regional recruiter must be able to work independently out of a home office, manage projects, solve problems, and act as a representative of ECSU in a positive manner. The recruiter plays a critical role in achieving enrollment goals by encouraging prospective students to apply and admitted students to enroll.
Multiple positions may be filled from this posting
- Manage recruitment visits.
- Conduct high school visits, attend college fairs, and host presentations within the territory.
- Territory travel 12-15 weeks, which may include overnight stays.
- Travel includes trips to ECSU for training, signature events such as Viking Showcases (Open Houses), and the pickup of recruitment materials.
- Weekend and evening hours are frequent.
- Serve as a representative of ECSU by making outbound phone calls on behalf of the Office of Admissions and other designated departments.
- Responds to inquiries via phone and email, providing a positive experience for all who interact with the department.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
- Work 25 hours per week
Competencies/Knowledge Skills, and Abilities Required in this Position
- A Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university is required.
- Valid US driver's license
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, etc.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
