Job description

Aqua-Flo is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Temporary Driver for a 3-month assignment to support our operations in Goleta and Santa Barbara, California. This position combines customer deliveries with warehouse, yard, and operational support responsibilities. Working closely with the Managers, Warehouse Associates, and Sales Team, the successful candidate will help ensure exceptional customer service, efficient branch operations, and a safe, organized work environment. Responsibilities include making deliveries, loading and unloading materials, pulling and staging orders, assisting with inventory transfers, maintaining yard organization, and supporting daily warehouse and branch activities while demonstrating professionalism and strong commitment to safety.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Safely operate company vehicles to deliver products to customers and pick up materials from suppliers
  • Follow all company safety policies and applicable traffic laws
  • Maintain the cleanliness, supplies, and general condition of company vehicles and promptly report maintenance issues, accidents, or damage
  • Load, unload, and secure materials for transport
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard and warehouse environment
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment only after receiving required training and certification. and maintain the good condition of equipment, delivery trucks, and forklifts
  • Pull orders and inventory transfers in accordance with established branch procedures
  • Physically stock yard material after the receiving process is completed
  • Remove discarded packaging and debris from work areas
  • Support branch operations and customer service activities as assigned

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience in a high-volume warehouse, distribution, landscape, irrigation, utility, or related environment is a plus.
  • Delivery driving experience with customer interaction preferred
  • Valid California driver's license required. Must meet company vehicle insurance eligibility requirements and pass motor vehicle record review.
  • Forklift experience or certification preferred (or willing to train)
  • Positive, professional, and solutions-oriented attitude
  • Ability to regularly lift, pull, push, and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Work Environment
  • Work performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading of materials is required.

Additional Information
  • Temporary, non exempt position
  • Anticipated assignment length: approximate duration: 3 months
  • Employment is at will and may end before or after the anticipated assignment period, based on business needs.
  • Possible extension: Depending on business needs, the assignment may be extended.
